Giant 1471 was created by owner Greg Hateley in suburban Perth. Located on a property in a massive simulator shed, Greg has a purpose-built space to house the simulator, a kitchen, briefing area and breakout area.
The 747 runs using two base programs, AeroWinx PSX (for the aircraft) and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (for the visuals). In addition, it uses the following software products:
- vPilot (VATSIM)
- OPUS Live Weather
- PSX.net
- BACARS
- Professional Flight Planner X (PFPX)
- REX Sky Force 3D
The 747 Hardware is now a variety of OEM and manufactured parts. It is being constantly worked on, upgraded and tweaked.
Why GTI1471? While initially a freighter aircraft was used, we’ve moved to one of the few Atlas Air aircraft that are passenger carriers. As for the flight number, you’ll have to ask Greg.
